Front caliper/ rotor install question

Just starting my kit and trying to install my front calipers over the rotors.
The rotors are fully 1" wide.
But the space between the brake pads is only 15/16".
The pistons seem fully compressed

What am I missing here?
Do I have mismatched parts? It must be me.

Which calipers and rotors are you using?

Get a large C clamp and compress the piston into the caliper that last little bit. Mine acted the same way until I got them pistons in all the way.

Clamped the piston and now it fits. Moving on.
