Okay, I came to a grinding halt today. The assembly manual is really not great here, and I have read through the supplemental Gen 3 Coyote Installation Manual for these steps, but I'm super confused. I'm going Gen 3 Coyote, and did order the installation kit with my MkIV Complete kit. Also going NON-hydraulic clutch. Please don't tell me to just go hydraulic. I'll buy the Ford cable to replace the FFR cable.

Questions:

1) The front of the FFR clutch quadrant hits the side of the relief cut in the mount plate. Normal?
2) The quadrant stop bolt and locknut...I assume I have it installed right, but probably need to have more bolt threads exposed?
3) The two aluminum mount plates for the clutch switch...these appear to be for the hydraulic clutch setup, and my inventory sheet suggests the same. Should I have received the non-hydraulic brackets, since my options didn't include a hydraulic setup? Also, should I have received Motorcraft SW6359 clutch switch instead of the pair of 'twin' switches that came with the kit?
4) The accelerator pedal...WTF. The Coyote Installation Manual shows hacking up what I presume to be a stock Mustang pedal, but mine looks way different. Do I still need the Coyote pedal mount plate?

Man, and I stumped.

THanks,

Greg feel free to stop by if you want to look at my setup. The gen 2 coyote is drive by wire. That can't be the whole gas pedal assembly.

My gen 2 also uses 2 clutch safety switches. One at the top is the stroke and one at the bottom. Mine is non hydraulic

Do you have the Coyote control pack? If so familiarize yourself with it and it's components because some supersede Ron Francis/FFR/Wilwood pedal box parts.

The pedal you show is for a cable operated throttle, not the Coyote DBW. This is the pedal that will be included in the Coyote control pack.

Also part of the control pack is the clutch bottom travel switch (6G9Z-11A152-A) which plugs into the harness to tell the PCM the pedal position serving as the starter interlock and replacing the kit's clutch switch.

Thanks, Jeff. That's super helpful. I knew I was missing something. I have not ordered my Coyote crate engine, or the control pack; I was intentionally myoptic on that piece, since it is a ways donw the road. I guess I didn't consider some components of it would be needed earlier than later. I plan to purchase the Gen3 Coyote Crate setup from Factory Five, so I assume all the bits will be there.

I do think they sent me the wrong clutch switch mount braket, though.

I guess I'll move on to steering and brake lines next.

Thanks again as always, Jeff.

Gbranham,
For your questions:
1. You should be fine. The clutch pressure/cable will be pulling the opposite direction and utilizing/making use of the quadrant stop nut seen in your second picture. Once you get it mounted in the footbox it will make sense and yes, you'll end up adjusting it.
2. See answer at end of question 1 above. This quadrant stop nut will end up much higher, but adjusted once your setup is in the footbox.
3. Those two pieces are correct for manual clutch. I was sent the pieces for a hydraulic clutch and yours appear much better than the "custom" piece I created for mine. The l-shaped piece on the right hand side of your picture is the one that will hold the Motorcraft SW6359 switch, that you should have received, regardless of whether you have a hydraulic or manual clutch. At the bottom is a pic of my frankenstein setup, with nothing tightened or adjusted. The bottom most picture is of the hydraulic actuator lever, that I "modified" to function as needed for my manual clutch setup.
4. Jeff stated everything correctly above. That pedal just gets shipped with all kits. The Drive By Wire pedal assembly will come with your engine/control pack. I don't recall if the Motorcraft clutch safety switch came with the Coyote Control pack or with the complete kit. FFR reps are pretty good about telling you where/what box to look in if you think you're missing something.

...Motorcraft SW6359 switch, that you should have received, regardless of whether you have a hydraulic or manual clutch...

...I don't recall if the Motorcraft clutch safety switch came with the Coyote Control pack or with the complete kit...

That switch is in the Ford Performance Coyote Control Pack. The Ford instructions show everything that's included: https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/instructionsheets/FORDINSTSHTM-6017-M50B.PDF.

So, here's pics of the hydraulic clutch switch mount from the Gen3 Coyote Installation Manual (the pic with the switch in green), and a 2nd pic and 3rd pic from the same manual showing the manual clutch switch mount. And finally, the pic of what I was sent. The manual and hydraulic mounts are clearly different, and it appears I was sent the hydraulic mount. My inventory sheets suggest same. I've email FFR to see what they say. The hydraulic mount actually mounts from the top of the pedal box, so the switch sits upside down, where the manual setup sets on the big mount plate next to the quadrant. I could probably just fab up something, but if I did get the incorrect part, I'd like the correct one, and if they just send the hydraulic mount now, they need to update the Gen3 Coyote Installation Manual. All's well...we'll get it sorted out.
