This is admittedly a long ways down the road for me, but I was doing some thinking and research on electronic rear view mirrors. I'm curious if anyone has installed one, and what your experience has been with it.

I was thinking something like this. https://wolfbox.com/

Thanks,

Greg

I have a "camera" mirror in my new truck and here are some pros/cons I can offer you.

Pros:
- Unobstructed view in the camera (no headrests/passengers/top/etc. in the camera view)
- Ability to switch from camera to actual mirror if you wish (uses the same sort of day/night switch found on traditional mirrors)
- No headlight glare

Cons:
- View is not as clear as a traditional mirror in my opinion
- Some LED headlights strobe in the mirror, which is really distracting as they look like flashing emergency vehicle lights

I hear ya on this one...I like time, temp and compass in it. I realize there are essentially no blind spots in the car, but I like the tech, and if it also gives me a dashcam to record with, that's kind of a bonus. They're fairly cheap, so I'm just daydreaming...

This is great feedback. Thanks, Papa!

Can you get one that gives a fish eye view? I have an 17" wide convex mirror on mine and I am really happy with the field of view it provides compared to a standard mirror. Thats the only benefit I can think of. I love the mirror camera in my Yukon but thats mostly because if it was a standard mirror you might as well not have one at all in that vehicle.

Might want to mount on the dash to avoid having wire hiding issues. I would want a regular mirror on the windshield, also. Camera mount, more wiring and hiding the camera. I kept my add on's to a minimum, so not much interest, especially after the build and paint.
I can see this in some of my full body rides.

I've been a coupe with one and it makes sense. Lines of sight are jenky in a coupe. Also if the rear window is dirty it's' not as easy to see through.

In a roadster I find the little kit mirror works great. Combined with the Breeze side mirror I see plenty. My only concern would be if you get caught in the rain. Is it water resistant or proof? You would also want to probably mount it to the body like a traditional mirror, otherwise you will have that wire dangling down the center of the windshield.

Right, because no other cars have basic tech like compasses, time, temp and dash cams. I guess I asked for feedback. Should've asked for useful feedback. ;)

Nascar use cameras for mirrors so they seem to work.

I had one for a while on mine. Same one the OP linked. It worked well, no complaints there. The wires, and the look of it were 10000% terrible. So it's gone gone gone.
