Hello everyone

I am working on fuel lines. Adding the connectors to the flexible does not seem to be my thing and harder than I thought. After a learning curve, I made my first one, and while it looks good, I’d like to test each line plus the entire line back to front.

I see there are plugs and valves to test lines and I’ll grab one to test individual lines in a water bath.

How do I test the entire system front to back? I have seen folks put air on some type of air kit that has two gauges on it. Not sure what it’s called., but seems to be useful for this, maybe brake lines, and maybe hydraulic line.

Any advice? Thx. Tom

If you're making AN lines you can piece together fittings or buy a kit like this (just a random one I Googled).

I pumped mine up to about 100 PSI and left them to sit for a bit, if the pressure held I was happy. I used this Earl's adapter (https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Earls-AT100199ERL-Fuel-Pressure-Gauge-Adapter-6-Male-to-6-Female,146474.html) for my -6 (3/8) line to add a gauge to the assembly for monitoring the pressure.

I never tested the whole fuel system, I trusted the flares to seal to the individual components, it was my connections I was a bit suspect of and wanted to bench test.

I tested each flex line I fabricated individually with the Earl's pressure tester (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ear-d016-6erl) in a bucket of water. After all the fuel lines were installed, including the outlet line from the pressure regulator to the engine (which I deadheaded with the Earl's tester), I put a few gallons of gas in the tank and jumpered power to the fuel pump circuit. This allowed me to test the entire fuel delivery system, check for leaks and set the fuel pressure regulator.

Thx for the info and recommended parts. I have a pressure tester and ordered the pass through adapter. I should be able to test both flex and hardlines. Fingers crossed.
