For those that have been, where do you recommend lodging? Need a place for about 4 to 6 people, 2 cars to run the tail, 2 trucks and 2 trailers. Any other advice would be very welcomed. Thank you

It's been too long ago for me to remember the lodging close by. BUT, please drive the route Slowly first. The blacktop changes from new to old and rough, sometimes in the middle of a curve.
FYI... The Biltmore estate is close by and worth touring, if you have time. You can buy tickets on-line ahead of time. The Biltmore hotel is close by, if you don't mind spending $380/night. lol
