I built my car 17 years ago and the wind wings and visors are looking a bit tired. I ordered replacements from FFR but the visors are drilled with holes that are about 3/8" too far apart (9.25") to mount to the tabs on my windshield. Why they changed their design is beyond me.

There used to be a guy on the forum, Steve, that went by the nickname of Wurf, and apparently he used to make lexan visors. Anyone know if he's still around or if anyone else makes visors that fit? Ideally, the holes would be 8.75" part to fit my tabs perfectly.

If you're not using a soft/hard top, consider moving the visor tabs to the channel on top of the windshield using #6 square nuts. this allows you to move the tabs to whatever distance necessary.

Bill, I would think that if you have a Tap Plastics, or other plastic retailer, that you could do a tracing of your original visors and wind wings and have them cut and drill them for you. You could also choose the type and color of plastic you wanted. I found the same problem putting the visors on mine.

My wind wings used set screws to clamp to the windscreen frame. Don't FFR still use that style of bracket?

I had tabs that mounted to the top of the windscreen frame and set screws on the brackets mounted to the visors that tightened down onto the bracket. I could just barely make both set screws hit the brackets because the pieces mounted to the visors were out too wide. The measurements didn't add up. Eventually I'm going to have new ones made. Maybe in a more opaque plastic.

I found a guy on eBay that makes wing wings and visors and will custom drill the holes to whatever specification you choose, and he has a few different colors.

Here is the listing I used: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225005572763

The seller's name is "daxcnc"
