What I'm working with:
FF MK4 #8233
Ron France wire harness Rev. K Diagram
2011-2014Coyote Gen 1 motor and harness
Wilwood pedal assembly
Want to clarify the Clutch Safety Switch on the MK4 RF/Ford Harness
• RF harness has two wires on the start/crank ing switch. Lt Blue goes to the red/blue at C47 on the Ford harness. The end point is the tan/green wire which connects to the start solenoid. (Verified)
• The second BLUE wire runs down to your clutch safety switch; on the other side of the switch the same color wire (blue) runs back to the solenoid per the wiring diagram from RF.
• Question: Does this second blue wire at the clutch safety switch go to the solenoid?? Or should this be a grounded to complete the circuit?
I have searched the forum, a lot of gen 2 & 3 information and FF chassis instructions are very short on the connection.
This is my first of many questions. Thanks, any input would be greatly appreciated!
Hope I got this right,
Jeff

Not sure I completely understand the question.
Can you clarify or add some photos?

Here's the wiring diagram, sorry about the mess but I dieted the harness last week. Validated all the start and end points with my meter and highlighter. Before I wrap and install the harness, I would like to see what y'all think about the clutch safety switch.
1. As you can see the ing switch has two blue wires coming off on the right hand side. The Lt. Blue goes the the red/blue wire in the ford power pack harness which is crank. End point is the tan/grn wire at starter.
2. The other blue wire goes down and to the left, then up to the clutch safety switch.
3. On the other side of the switch there's another blue wire that per the diagram goes back to the solenoid.
So, I have a single wire (lt. blue) for the crank function which is the red/blue ford wire.
As for the clutch safety switch, I was thinking maybe I could ground the blue wire, instead of pulling it back to the solenoid.

I think that would be a bad idea and cause a short when you turn the key to start the motor. The "start" terminal at the key switch will be active 12 v when trying to crank the motor. The clutch switch prevents the 12 v getting to the starter solenoid if it is not depressed, so motor will not crank. Looks to me like you have an option to crank the motor thru the control pack or thru the clutch switch wiring as is. Seems you would use 1 or the other, not both. Also, the control pack output to the starter solenoid would need to route thru the clutch switch if you want that safety feature. I have no idea about the gen 1 coyote outputs, if it says it goes to the starter, then it must work for that purpose.

This should help, I know it is not the same generation, but it talks about not using the clutch switch. Not sure what safety feature the controller to prevent start with out being in neutral or clutch depressed.

I have a gen 2 coyote in my kit. I chose to use the control pack to engage the starter. In that case I bypassed the harness clutch safety switch because the control pack included them.
I used the efi/crank wire in the harness to trigger the control pack to start.

By Bypass, you mean did not use and disconnected or removed those wires because the control pack has a transmission neutral safety switch included?
I am not using a coyote, but like electronics/electrical stuff, I was a former Navy Nuclear plant electronics technician...

I just bypassed the ron Francis harness portion but only because the control pack had its own clutch safety switches. (Yes two of them)
