Howdy all,
A quick introduction - I'm Zac, and I'm Elaine's husband. She posts on here as Wrenchette, and is currently building a Mk 4 roadster. My job is just the technical consultant and quality conformance inspector for her build (and I often hold the backup wrench while she torques things). As we get futher into the build, I'll have quite a few fabrication oppertunities as well.
I come from the background of little British cars, so other than all those extra cylinders, the Cobras look pretty familiar. I grew up helping my dad restore various Triumphs and an MGTD. I restored and drove a '64 Triumph TR-4 as my daily driver when I was in college (mid '90s) up until about 5 years ago when I decided for once in my life to drive a car younger than me.
I'm having a lot of fun helping Elaine with her kit. It's so nice to work on a car that doesn't require disassembly and cleaning prior to assembly. It's really making me want a '33 Hot Rod kit. I have a few other projects to get through first ('73 Volvo 1800ES restoration, a cafe racer project, and maybe someday pretty up my beater '57 Chevy pickup), but I think I have caught the FFR disease.
