Hi everyone.
I am roughing in the gas tank and lines and have a few questions.
1. The instructions do not mention bending the seam in several places. I see two spots in the back and one in the front on the PS. I am guessing it would allow the rear to be snugged up a little. Not sure about the front.
Q. Do any of these still need to be flattened?

2. I have a Holley in tank pump #12-345. Nice unit. AN6 to a Holley filter. I have an aluminum bracket and thinking of placing close to the tank. U can see it clamped in the picture below.
Q. Is any place good enough? Closer? Farther?
Q. The fitting is AN6 o-ring. I snugged it down. Put wrench on it and didn’t seem to want to move. Is snug it?

3. Holley Filter. The inside filter part is serviceable. The fittings is NPT.
Q. What kind of sealer is best? I am not up on NPT fittings.

Appreciate help and responses. Thx Tom

So what I remember is that you bend the seams on the tank to get a good fit with the tank straps.if the tank is snug against the frame you are good.
I would not use an aluminum bracket to hold the fuel filter because when the body is on and the trunk installed, you will restrict how your hands can get in there. You should be able to connect the filter directly to the frame. If you use an6 fuel line quick line disconnects you will be able to work around your filter and do pump maintenance easy.
With NPT fittings you don’t use sealers. Just get it good and snug.
You didn’t mention what you are doing for fuel lines. 3/8 is good for the feed and 5/16 for the return.
Hope this helps.

I agree with the filter position comment. I placed mine around mid car along PS chassis. Easy peasy.
Getting to that spot after panels are in and hose that need wrenches will be a PIA where you mocked it up.

I absolutely would use a PTFE sealant with the NPT fittings. I try not to use Teflon tape with gasoline. Both Permatex and Loctite have excellent PTFE thread sealants. Be sure to follow the instructions and let them sit/ firm up for the required duration.

Thx brewha and scrubs. I have 3/8 feed and return.
So on the tank. Are the tank seams supposed hit the down supports and press up against it? And the straps hold it tight?
I followed a few builds on the filter location. While a pain. I could get it it. The location protects it pretty good. I’ll take another look in the am. Thx for pointing out.
As for the NPT filling. It’s not a taper or press fit. It needs a sealer to be leak free.

Actually, the manual does mention that. At least in the versions I have. "Fuel tank install: At the locations on the tank where the tank straps come near the tank, use a pair of pliers and bend the bent parts flat."
But it's easy to miss and maybe a little cryptic. The tank flange needs to fit flat against those plastic bumpers.

Thank you Paul and everyone.
I’ll think about the filter location again.

How about this location? I can put a 90 or 45 hose end on it. It’s protected by the frame and the back of the cockpit. Only thing if something gets messed up in the wheel well. But I am thinking that would be pretty bad overall and need a tow for that regardless.
Appreciate feedback, comment, and suggestions.

My lines run down that square tubing and are mounted to it, but I felt the filter was too exposed in that location. I mounted under the trunk.

Bruce. Yeah I am not favoring that spot anymore. @mike.bray used a similar spot I originally had. It’s forward a little. I am going to mock that and see how it is. He has the same filter. So it should be good.
Thx for the picture.
