Anyone have a 427 (Stroked 351W) with IRS and using a T56 trans? What, if any, modifications are needed to fit that transmission? Same question around the driveshaft for that combo as well. I’ve seen a lot of posts around the Coyote and 302, but not much for the 351W.

Thanks.

I have a 352 ( stroked 302) with the T56 and IRS. I ended up swapping the pinion flange on the IRS with a shorter flange ( truck flange I Believe), and still had to shorten the driveshaft. The tube part is maybe 1" long. I swapped the pinion flange facing part of the u joint to one that bolts right up to the flange, thus eliminating the need for the adapter. Also ended up cutting off the brackets for the parking brake and installed the wilwood electric parking brake. Had to trim off some metal from the horizontal plate on the transmission A-frame. Also used Gordon Levy's lowering engine mounts to achieve a good pinion angle ( and keep the eightstack under the hood). This required the installation of a shallower oil pan.
