I ran into a thread before I started carpeting about the "insta-stick" property of the stuff when carpeting...they were not kidding! I started with the DAP outdoor carpeting adhesive on the rear cockpit which gave a few mm of wiggle room once the carpet was on. I then used the Super77 on a fairly flat section and thanked the Lord I didn't try to the rear cockpit with it...it stuck right where I first placed it.

I am alternating them now depending on the section and sometimes to touch up the edges when I use the DAP in an area.

Enjoy,

A suggestion to you regarding the 3M Super 77. I used it to adhere the carpet, tunnel top vinyl and the dash vinyl. Heat cycling eventually caused the dash vinyl to lift in places. It took a few years, but the 3M stuff gave up.
I decided if I were to redo the dash that I wanted to change to a competition layout to have a better view of the speedo and tach. When I redid the dash and tunnel cover, I used the product below designed for high strength in high heat environments to adhere the upholstery. In the years after using the pro-grip adhesive, it has yet to fail for me and the 2nd owner of the car about 6 to 7 years now.

I used 3M 90 hi strength on my dash and carpet. Been 15 years and have had no issues. By the way it’s called contact cement for a reason. LOL

Hmm, super 77 didn't hold in South Texas heat and humidity. Switched to 3M 90. Knock on wood that 90 is better...
