Thread Search Tips? Getting unrelated results.

Hello. I have tried on several occasions to use the search feature to find threads/posts with specific topics. I seem to get many unrelated results. Thus I don't find what I need or give up after following several links.

Any tips?

Try going outside of the forum, and then use Google as your search engine for the keywords you are interested in + the word "forum".

At least some of the results that pop up will be threads from this forum. Then go back into the forum via the links provided to read those threads.

I had this same challenge last night, searching for discussions about upper control arm adjuster sleeves. I searched 'Adjuster Sleeve', 'UCA Shortened', etc, and the search returned a list of threads that seemed unrelated. Upon reading through those threads, my keywords did show up in posts here and there, so it works, but it's a bit rudimentary. The Google suggestion is interesting. I might have to give that a go.

I used Google search 99% of the time. It's much better than the built-in search function. I usually do it one of two ways:

1) search on whatever keywords you want, followed by "factory five". This will typically yield results from multiple sources, including this forum, that have a high likelihood of having FFR content.

2) search on whatever keywords you want, followed by the string "site:thefactoryfiveforum.com". This will search this forum only.
