Yea, I watched that yesterday. It's good to see the F9 moving along.... be it at a snail's pace though.

If you are talking about the black Cobra body on the rack, that is a 289 and have always come black.

I'm thinking they figured they'd sell more of the prerunner kits than the f9 kits so they put the f9 on the back burner for a bit. Anyone have any ideas as to why they discontinued the gtm or was that just a rumor?

I think he's referring to the Red w/ Grey Stripes 427 (Dave built with his son) that has all of the trim blacked out.

The red one has been in the showroom for a while. It was where the truck is now. Two times I poked at it over a year apart and the door handle wasn't working on the drivers side. I got a chuckle out of that. Beautiful car.

Ha! That's one of the reasons you see it in the race shop in this video. Great car. My brother loves to drive it to the beach. It gets all the attention!

What a great video. Amazing what FFR has does over the years building the brand. I have restored a few cars since building my Cobra. Restoring has become expensive and hard work. Parts, paint, etc. I think you get a better bang for your buck building a FF car!

I love those two colors, anyone know what they are?

Darn You Dave!

You're making me want to spend money to build a Daytona.

Dark Side Powered of Course!

Ugh!

Per Dave Smith, it's Ford Ruby Red with flat black. I'm copying this car for my build...

Noticed a couple of orientations for the front bumper lift in the video. Can someone explain why one would be oriented forward the other backward?

The 289 USRRC/FIA cars had the quick jacks reversed and closer to the body.

i think the issue with the GTM is both a slowdown in sales, and the transaxles are getting harder to find so costs are going up

I wish Dave would scrap the work "kit", when describing our cars. As good as kit cars have gotten over the last several years, the term kit car still has a black cloud hanging over it.

How about using the term, synthesis project vehicle instead. Synthesis means a complex whole, formed by combining elements of separate material into a single entity.
According to the Merriam Webster, it's
: the composition or combination of parts or elements, so as to form a whole
: the combining of often diverse conceptions into a coherent whole

An apt description of our creations.:)
