I'm a little confused trying to find the right quick release steering wheel hub. I do not have power steering. 3 quarter inch shaft. 6 bolt steering wheel. All from F5.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You want the NRG Innovations SRK-400. This comes in several colors but is the thinnest. I have this on my Cobra and LOVE it.

I think he's also asking about the hub too, not just the quick release mechanism.

There are lots of threads on this, but I can try to sum it up:

If you want to use the FFR wheel, there is no out of the box way to do this without some minor fabrication.

The main issue is the steering wheel— it uses a bolt pattern that is very hard to find adapters for. The steering shaft itself (Double-D) also has a very limited selection of adapters. Finding an off-the-shelf adapter that does both is basically impossible (I literally spent 20+ hours scouring the Internet).

When you throw the quick-release mechanism into the middle of the FFR supplied parts, you basically have to adapt an uncommon pattern, into a common pattern, back into an uncommon pattern. If you remove one of the uncommon patterns from the equation, you can simplify things.

The way I chose (because it was literally the only option I could find) to simplify the problem was to remove the uncommon pattern on the steering shaft side by throwing out the FFR hub and replacing it with an NRG SRK-174H Hub Adapter.

The way to solve the problem with the least amount of fabrication is this:

1. Buy an NRG Innovations SRK-174H Hub Adapter - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y98AP1S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. This will replace the FFR hub and will allow you to mount any NRG quick release adapter directly to the factory double-D steering shaft with zero modification.
2. Buy any NRG quick release adapter. The SRK-400 is generally preferred because it's the most compact, but you certainly could choose a different one (especially if you wanted the steering wheel to be closer to your chest for some reason).
3. Here is where you have two options, one with zero fabrication, and one with minor fabrication:

a) Minor fabrication: drill (and countersink) additional holes in the FFR steering wheel to match up to the holes in the SRK-400 (or other). This is the route I went. These holes will look funky, but they will eventually be covered up by the center cover in the wheel. You could also do the opposite, and drill and tap holes in the SRK-400 to match the FFR wheel. But in this case you're adding the extra work for tapping. Either way you choose to do it, it will look exactly the same from the outside in the end.

b) No fabrication: buy another steering wheel that has a standard bolt pattern that can mount directly to the SRK-400 (or other). If you go this route, then you are basically using nothing that FFR supplied you, but if you can find a wheel that you like, this is probably the "cleanest" route.

Many builders will just modify their FFR hub to accept the bolt pattern from the SRK-400 and skip the SRK-174H adapter (some do this for other reasons, like using an aftermarket turn signal stalk). But then you are going to have to drill and align two sets of holes as opposed to one. It just depends on if you want to trade a little money for time or vice versa. The SRK-174H adapter made the most sense to me personally.

I know Mark Reynolds (Breeze Automotive) also sells one with a blank pattern so you can mark and drill your own to match the FFR steering wheel offset. I haven't used this product, but maybe worth a look. I was considering using it in my next build.

I used the Breeze adapter. It was not difficult to install.

I welded a Jegs 5/6 pattern quick release hub on my existing steering shaft because 1. I knew the standard FFR steering wheel design wasn't going to jive with the rest of the cockpit design, and 2. The Jegs hub is small enough to allow removal of the dash without having to remove the steering shaft, if ever needed. I love my MOMO MOD 30 steering wheel and quick release that allows me to drop the steering wheel and put the tuning laptop in my lap.

Doesn't it require welding or brazing?

I did the same as Alphamacaroon. It worked well.

I used the Breeze quick release. You need to drill to fit the FFR wheel bolt pattern. I think Forte sells a pre drilled adapter. Works really well.

I used the quick release steering hub from Breeze also ... he makes /markets items specifically for FFR builds.

Not sure why people are going off the reservation for "NRG" and whatnot.

Only reasons for me was NRG is lower profile and compatible with the Russ Thompson turn signal setup, otherwise I would absolutely use Breeze or Forte's quick releases.

Ditto From Camp Go-Dad.

The ability to easily remove the dash was my concern too.
