View Full Version : What Color Red is the Mk4 Roadster at the FFR showroom?

I read somewhere about the Red on the new/old anniversary mk4 at the FFR showroom.
Does anyone know what the color code and story behind the red is? Ferrari comes to mind.

I really like the FF5 show car red. How do you think the Rosso Corsa it would look with white strips?

The Rosso Corsa is a great red and I am certain it would look great with bright white stripes. I would really like to know which of the Rosso Corsa colors this is. I found three Ferrari Rosso Corsa Color Codes and they all very a little bit.
I know there is a little history with this color and I was wondering if this was the Ferrari red that was used in the early sixties when the Roadster finally got a chance to let Ferrari know that it was a formidable race car.

Having seen the FF5 car a few times now...actually sat in it; it has kind of an orange tone to it? Maybe Jason or Dave can fill us in?
I like the irony of it :) Paint a cobra in Ferrari red; the ultimate insult to Ferrari..... or .... flattering gesture. Either way I am a car guy and have always loved the color. That color is the definition of a true "sports car" color.

There are some really good pure, non-orangy reds out there without using a Ferrari color. I know because I found one. Not gonna tell you what it is though, at least until after I've 'graduated' FFR4969K.

Come on AJ . How about a hint?
I had a 68 Pontiac GTO in the early 70's painted Corvette red that looked really good. Always got a lot of compliments on that color. I bought the GTO painted that color already so don't know the paint code. I like the Ford Vermillion red too.

Well Tom, the last one I had settled on, before finding my current color, was VW Salsa Red. It is a great redredredredred with no oranginess at all, which I like. I am not fond of the orangies, like with Viper Red, at all. You get to a point (or at least I do) where you need to compare some choices side by side to make a decision. Then, for me, I realized that if I liked it I should just go with it. Saw my new color, and although it looks damn near identical to the VW Salsa, it is my new choice and I'm sticking with it. For now. Tune in next week. :cool:
