I have a slight crack in the body towards the top of the DS door opening. The crack does not go all the way through, as the underside glass sheets are intact. It almost looks like there was a buildup of gel coat in there (not wax) and it cracked at the weak point when flexing.

I have some everglass short strand filler - would that be sufficient to repair? dig it out, fill it in, etc from the top side. Or would I need to add some layers of glass below?

I'm at the point where I'm going to undercoat the body, so now's the time if I need to layer some more glass.

I'd dig it out and fill it with Fibertech if it is just a surface imperfection.

Shown below is a stress crack repair video for issues that are more significant:

If you need to do a little fiberglass work, be sure to get Vinylester resin if possible since that is what Factory Five bodies are made of. Polyester will work too if that is all you can get.

US Composites. Stop with the brand named premixed stuff and buy your own components. Grind the crack out and fill with “peanut butter”, then throw a few strips of glass on the back.

This is your answer, along with using a vinylester resin (from US Composites) Also, and depending on size, buy some chop strand glass of up to 1/2" long. Wet the area with resin and fill with loose dry chopped glass.
