2022 roadster w new door latch. So I had to attach the extensions to both sides which worked out ok.. I attached the chrome latch cover to the mechanism and noticed when the mechanism and cover is placed on the door in the same position as when aligned with the rivnut tool (used as a spacer to get 90 degrees) the cover hangs over the edge of the door fibreglass at the bottom. The manual picture shows the same thing. I can move the latch mechanism forward to get it all on the door fibreglass and add a few washers to the striker to bring it out a little if necessary. Is this generally what is done here?? The instructions don't really say anything other than using the rivnut tool for spacing...
Thx

I think the main thing is to clear the body with door opening/ closing.

Yeah, I agree, the rinuts will hold the latch for sure it just seems odd not to have the whole latch set on the door panel.

The first few I did I had no problem....then on the third one I found out I had just been lucky on the first two. Bottom corner was clipping the jam. Now that I know I put spacers on the pin and move the latch forward for clearance. As for instructions.....didn't know there were any ..da Bat

There is a pdf for the new latches. Will post when.
Easy enough to just add some washers...

Since i needed extensions to get the striker post in place I ended up moving the latch forward and using spacers.. Success - doors close perfectly - I'll take this as a win...
