Hey All!

As I continue my prep for ordering and starting on my kit, I built a buck today.

I previously thought I couldn’t hang it from my ceiling. But I did some rearranging in the garage and have a spot that’s almost the same size as the body.

So, my question for you all is: how far off the front and back, and sides, does the body hang off a standard 8’ buck? I want to get my pulleys set up so I can get this thing out of the way, but need to make sure I have it hoisting in the right spot for a body-on setup.

Thanks!188062

Bump.

I know there’s several out there with bodies on bucks. Could someone please measure the overhang?

All three of my bucks are built 90" to catch the bodies in the center of the wheel openings. Overhang in the front is approximately 28" and the rear is approximately 38" You can split the difference between my 90" and your 96" to get pretty close.

I did what Jeff recommended, too. You'll want to locate your winch pulleys to accommodate both 90" and whatever you decide for your body buck. I kept the body buck length as described in the Manual, but then "cheated" inboard for my winch mounts -- essentially, I just mounted additional 2"x4"s inside the 96" length. I measured out my space on the garage floor and included lighting considerations. Worked out just like I planned...

Edit: I forgot to mention that the location of my ceiling joists were also a major factor in choosing the location :)
