Last week I had a rattling baffle fixed with self tapping screws. Now the side pipe is cracked 2/3 around ! Anyone have any luck with FFR or do I just get it welded? Polished side pipe..187771187772

Like you, I've used self-tapping screws to quiet a rattling baffle but never did it cause a crack - especially as bad as yours. Not sure about contacting FFR since you "modified" the pipe and/or how long their warranty is.

You may also find out if someone went with alternate sidepipes has an extra. I did that but will keep mine until I’m done with the install. Sure there are others out there…

The screws had nothing to do with the crack, closest is 8” away

I know from reading this forum for years that F5 received a batch of side pipes with too-thin material at that weld. I'd contact F5 and tell them that you've got what you think are defective pipes, and go from there.

Could you possibly cut the mufflers off and install new ones from Summit Racing?

Yep. Those looked just like mine. F5 said they had batches where when the mfg. drew the metal at that transition point it got too thin and is prone to cracking. I called them and they sent me a new set of pipes, both sides. You can see in the new set a different shape at that point and the metal appears thicker.

Contacted FFR and again they stepped up and replaced the pipes free of charge. They continue to stand behind their product, met the owner again today and walked us thru the shop, showed us the F9 prototype, unbelievable!!!

I had that exact same failure. I contacted FFR and they sent me a new set of pipes
