View Full Version : Pedalbox mounting interference

Things had been going fairly smooth with my build until I got to installing the pedal box today. I was expecting it to be easy, but it appears I have some major interference issues. I attached the pedal box to the mounting flanges on the frame per the instructions and then proceeded to install the top mounting bracket. The holes don't line up with the pedal box at all! The holes are shifted by at least 3/8" when the bracket is pressed flush with the frame tube.

Has anyone seen or had this issue when installing their pedal box? What are my options? Try to fab up a new bracket?

Never run into that before. If it was me I would cut off the part that extends up. Bolt the rest to the pedal box then place the cut off part against the tube and spot weld it back to the bottom half. Remove and complete the weld.

Wow. Mine was off, but not that far. I was able to bend the bracket closer to 90deg, or a little more, and that was enough to get stuff to line up. still a bit tight, but it worked. Doesn't look like that is going to work for you though.

I ended up cutting the bracket at the bend and installing both parts, giving it a tack weld and then took it back off to do a final weld.

Thank you everyone for the advice. Looks like I will end up needing to cut and weld the bracket. FF did respond back that the bend in the bracket looked off so they are sending me a new one, but based on how far off mine looks, I'm not sure a new one will get me all the way there. We will see...
