Hey guys
In order to get my coupe inspected here in Pa, I must have a defroster.
I have looked at the vintage air heater/defrost unit.
The size is roughly 10"x10".
Not sure it will fit in the passenger foot box and still have room for feet.
Is there an electric heater with fan or something just to get a defroster?
Anybody use the Vintage Air?
Don't really care about heat or air conditioning.
Thanks
Scott

I used the one FFR sell as an option, it is a tight fit. There is not much room between frame rails so your options are limited.

Same here.
But you’ll check the box for inspection.

Yes, that is exactly what I did in my Gen 2 coupe to get it to comply with PA law. I used a small DC heater with a fan, designed for use in equipment cabs. It isn't too much bigger than a box of Pop Tarts. I couldn't find the receipt but am almost certain the manufacturer is "DC Thermal." It was one of their really small units and, as I recall, it doesn't draw a lot of amps if the toggle switch is kept on low power. It fit under the dash, on the passenger side, very nicely. I think I used some adapters from Aircraft Spruce and aluminum sheet to connect it to the defroster tubing. I would take a picture but the car is at Mark D's place for some maintenance that I can't find the time to do.

You may wish you had A/C eventually. I hear several that complain about the heat in a coupe in summer weather. You can get a unit that does both heat and A/C.

I believe I will go with that electric heat/defrost. You're right . It is DC thermal. Not to expensive either. It looks like they do make a tube kit that can be installed to defrost vents also. Thanks very much for that info.

After 3 years of driving I can recommend having AC in the coupe. Your call, just my recommendation.
