I tried connecting the radiator cooling fan to the wire harness. The connector on my Ron Francis harness looks similar to the connector on the fan, but they are slightly different and will not connect. Anyone else come across this issue?

Thanks for reminding me. I had to cut off some of one connector to get them to mate. Will probably swap to weatherpacks now that I have kit and know how to.

same here, I had to file down the sides of the male connector to get them to mate.

Chalk me up with the same issue. I just removed the plastic part off the harness end and stuck the terminals right onto the blades on the fan connector. They'll hold. Wrap some electrical tape if you're scared of a short.

I read about this somewhere else but I can't remember where. If you google "electrical fan connectors" a load of info comes up. I think in this case we are talking about SPAL fan type connectors...

With the 33 hot rod the ground wire of the fan gets connected to the thermostatic switch in the bottom of the radiator. The power wire from the RF harness connects to the positive of the fan.

I used insulated spade terminals for the connections.

I had the spade connectors on my Coupe, until one came off. Only found out on a hot day in slow traffic. Changed them to weatherpack, much better
