Has anyone used this unit and have any feedback? Fuel cell? Regular tank? I currently have a 10 gal fuel cell and was thinking of switching to a regular tank and thought this might be something to switch to at the same time.

Looks interesting but..
How fast does it react? And then how fast will the gauge react? Gauge fluctuations will be a serious annoyance.
Does it have some form of averaging?
What will fuel slosh do to the readings?
Lots more to learn about the application of LiDAR technology.
Not a skeptic but...

I installed one in my BDR. It can react as fast or slow as you want it to. It's adjustable, so it will work with any gauge. Fits in a standard 5 bolt hole. Because it is fully adjustable, it's not plug and play. You'll have to mess with it a little bit to get it exactly the way you want it to.

It comes with 5 bolts, and 5 rubber washers. Don't use the rubber washers, they suck. They will fail and cause a fuel leak. Use thread sealant and silicone instead.

Jim,
All of your points are valid which is why I posed the question. From everything I ready it seems like an upcoming technology and any opportunity to make things simpler the better. Also, my current conventional float goes up and down with hard acceleration and braking. Even occasionally going up a hill.

Bob,
Thanks for sharing your experience with the unit. I did read that the rate was adjustable so it's nice to hear that it does work. I like the idea of removing the mechanical float from the tank where it can eventually corrode or start sticking. I had to replace mine abut 1-1/2 years ago due to the variable resistor going bad. This would simplify the set-up.
