2022 roadster BPE 347 with ball flange header - Gas N standard side pipes. exit ports are cut pipes are straight down the side of the car but only 1 inch away from the body should this gap be larger - I was checking the manual and some threads but there does not seem to be a consensus. I don't want to drill the holes for the hangars till I know if I need to slip in a spacer.. Any experience here is greatly appreciated..

(Georgie includes longer SS bolts in anticipation of needing a spacer or wedge or two - Thanks Georgie!)

If both sides are the same, I'd leave it as is. I'd also be wary of using SS bolts. At the vary least get some bass nuts and use them.

An inch is plenty. Increased distance from the body just increases the chance for snake bight. Have been on the road for 9 years. No paint damage from the heat.

Thanks Norm, snake bite and paint were my two concerns. I have the pipes 3/4" higher than the chassis round tubes as well, i figured they would be safer at that level does that sound about right?

The hottest part of your system is where the pipes exit the body. If 1/2" clearance won't hurt it, you'll be fine with 1".
