exhaust leak

I fired up the roadster for the first time this morning and fortunately there were very few issues. However, I noticed quite a bit of exhaust leakage at the adjustable flanges right in front of the foot boxes. When it comes time to lock the side pipes into position, how are folks dealing with this. I like the adjustability of the flange, but not the leakage. would a bit of exhaust tape connecting the joint between the headers and side pipes (under the flange connector bracket) be an option? I have a BPE347FI with GasN headers and pipes.
