Power steering plumbing problem: FORD pump to 6AN hose

Hello all,
Hope you are all well and happily working on your car.
I have a 1965 Mustang power steering pump on my roadster with the FFR Mustang II rack. The pressure output fitting of the 1965 Mustang pump is a SAE 3/8 male 45 degree flare. I want to connect that to 6AN braided stainless steel hose to go to a Heidts proproportioning valve because the steering is too light. I cannot find a fitting to go between the 3/8 male 45 degree flare on the pump to 6AN hose.

I have found only Mustang II rack to GM power steering pump (inverted flare) hose kits. Nothing to go from the Mustang II rack to a FORD pump.

Has anyone solved this problem?

Use google you'll find a dozen. You said the steering is too light? A Heidts valve is only going to make it lighter still.
OOPs, that is a misstatement by me. The valve will reduce the pressure, and increase the effort, sorry about that.:(

I have a fox era pump on mine that has a discharge regulator built in to it. I was able to cut some off the the regulator spring which allows more fluid to bypass back to the reservoir which in turn makes the steering less touchy. Not sure if the older pumps are similar but worth looking into.

This is not true. A bypass valve, like the Height unit, can Not increase line pressure. I use a Heights valve on my own car to reduce line pressure for normal street driving. I run the valve full open to use during autocross.

Also look around the pump for a large hex plug. Wrench size in the 3/4 to 1 inch range. Usually under this plug is a spring pushing against the pressure regulator. If you cut the spring slightly it will reduce the pressure output.
