Everyone,
I have just started having a problem with my Cobra not starting after short trips. It starts up fine when cold and drives great, but if I stop to fill up or turn off the engine it will not start back up and smells flooded. If I wait an hour or two, I can start it right back up again, no problem. This caused my spark plugs to foul so I changed them. I still had the same problem after a short drive. I am going to check the pressure on the fuel line to make sure that it is not over 6 psi. I removed the top of the carb and checked the needles and float and everything seems fine. I also readjusted the carb. I am thinking that I am getting heat lock and/or too high psi in the fuel line. I am also worried that the air filter may be too restrictive, but again this wasn't a problem until recently when the daily temps went up.
