I have bought a 2007 Mustang GT 4.6 l 3V motor with 5 speed Tremec 3650 transmission. I got the ECM, engine wiring harness, engine compartment fusebox, complete wiring harness with BCU and accelerator pedal.
The car had approx 115k kms when it was totalled and the owner salvaged all for a project and stored it for several years. Project never happened.

Our plan, my son and I, is to keep the motor pretty well stock but pull the heads and oil pan to inspect and replace any minor wear items such as timing chain tensioner etc. Hopefully the rest is good. When we bought it we did not appreciate the complexity of the electrical aspect of the build and I now realize the key is to get the engine set up and running.

Question is; should we try to wire diet the harness ourselves, have Wirediet do it professionally, or go for the Ron Francis Stinger harness?
I realize we have to have the ECU programmed to delete Pats, rear O2 sensors and probably other items that we are not sure or aware of. Should ABS and Traction control be removed as we don't intend to use either.

If anyone has done a similar build or has advice on this we would appreciate it.

I did a 4.6 three valve back in 2001 using a 2000 wreck. I saved and used the engine harness but went with the RF harness for the car. Only problem I had back then was I did not have the ignition switch to get around the PATS system. Finally tracked down a race guy by way of a Ford engineer who pointed out that a 2000 Ford police vehicle with the 4.6 did not have a PATS system. He gave me a part number for the proper ECU which I located after going through maybe 100 boxes at the salvage yard. Ran fine after that.

Skip all that and go with the Holley Terminator. So much easier and self tuning ta' boot. For the chassis harness, you can go with the Ron Francis harness or any good chassis harness.

Thanks for the responses. This is a 2007 3V and is not specifically supported by Holley but they seem to have workarounds.
