In just a few days I'll be heading to Bristol Motor Speedway for the start of the 2023 Backroads of Appalachia Rally Benefitting C.O.P.S. in my Type 65 Coupe!

The rally is being organized by Rally North America with sponsorship from the Backroad of Appalachia. It's a five day scavenger-hunt style road rally by about 80 teams with overnight stays in Bristol VA, Richmond KY, French Lick IN and Covington KY. Teams will be challenged to find their way to scenic and historic checkpoints throughout the area.

To date, RNA has raised over two million dollars in donations for worthy charities. This year's beneficiary is Concerns of Police Survivors. Concerns of Police Survivors is a highly rated charity whose mission is to provide aid to the families and loved ones of law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty. Line-of-duty deaths include felonious, accidental, medical/illness, and suicide. Each year, between 140 and 160 officers die in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope. C.O.P.S. provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. C.O.P.S. was organized in 1984 with 110 individual members. Today, C.O.P.S. membership is over 67,000 survivors.

I will be participating as Team Limer, named for the 2006 Mustang GT that I've driven in RNA events for the last 12 years. This year will be the first rally for my project car. It's a Gen2 Type 65 Coupe with tons of mods to turn this track weapon into an amazing road trip ride. It proved itself this spring in a cross country trip from central Pennsylvania to the Golden Gate bridge, mostly by way of the Lincoln Highway.

I am asking you to make a donation to C.O.P.S. on behalf of my team. Your donation goes directly to C.O.P.S. But your donation also serve to improve my position on the daily starting grid. Please give generously for those left behind.
