Hello all, lurker/new member here with a very basic question looking for opinions.

I’m currently doing my homework ahead of committing to a build, it feels like if I was to pull the trigger it would work out to be a summer/fall 2024 decision. That’s mostly driven by finishing up some current home DIY projects, emptying out the garage enough to have a suitable workspace and letting my boys (10 & 5 currently) grow up enough to be more engaged/helpful in the build (and make great memories).

With that timing in mind, what would be the best option for me, wait for a 50/50 sale (when do those typically occur?) or wait and see if they release a 30th anniversary model (seems they might announce that in Oct ‘24)?

I think it would be great to get an anniversary model that would be a little bit unique, though on the other hand I never see Cobras in my area so anything would be unique. Personally going off of the last anniversary model I wouldn’t really care about special seats/instruments/badging as I would probably go aftermarket for seats and leave off the badges. I’d be looking at a Coyote powered car with IRS and powder coated frame, what’s the better bang for my buck, anniversary model or 50/50 sale?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Good luck on any sale as they don't seem to happen anymore... but only time will tell. Anniversary models are pretty unique and have a few special touches like a special powder coated frame, unique guages and maybe wheels like the 25th had. Toadster (on this forum) has a 25th. He could probably tell you more of the special items his car had. I think that was the last sale FFR had.

You aren’t going to see any 50/50 sales and any Anniversary models won’t be until 2025 (and may well be somewhat different than what we’re used to.

That’s good to know about the sales, if they are not happening anymore then perhaps the answer defaults to waiting on a potential anniversary edition. Thank you Ted G!

Thanks Jeff, I was assuming based on past announcements that they came out in Oct of the year before with kit deliveries occurring in the anniversary year. Is my assumption of a 2024 announcement/order book opening a bit optimistic?

Jay. Those sales were pre pandemic when sales slowed a little near the end of the year. Post pandemic. They sell everything they make and continue with supply chain issues here and there. If you sell everything you can make. There is no reason for a sale.

I had a 20th Anniversary Roadster. It was released in June of 2015. I don't know what month the other's were released. But I wouldn't count on any particular month. They typically come with a high end set of options. Mine did. Wilwood brakes, dual action shocks, IRS, special seats, wheels, dash, etc. So a premium price and at least in my case for 2015, sold out very quickly. Based on your description, especially where you're talking about deleting parts, etc. not entirely sure why that would be the best fit for you. And as others have said, no sales for a long time and I wouldn't predict any in the near future either. Like everything else, also have been some price increases. Likely any time you jump in is going to be the lowest price you're going to get.

I would pull the trigger sooner than later. Jeff at FFR told me recently that they will not be having a sale anytime in the near future. In fact, prices have just been going up

My 2 cents: There is no time like the present.

That said, I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you!

Thanks for the replies all, appreciate the feedback. Guess I have been reading too many older build threads where the 50/50 was a thing.
