I ordered my truck 10 months ago and took delivery the last of March 2023. I ve done quite a bit but I’m stalled waiting for my headers. I’m also running into castle nuts on the front suspension that don’t match side to side. I’m trying to build a truck that would pass some show inspectors and they notice things like that. So far Travis has been very helpful.
I had to reshape the transmission tunnel to fit my 4R70W transmission and still allow my foot to access the accelerator pedal. I then decided to cover the tunnel in carbon graphite and a high gloss epoxy resin. My driveshaft metal cover was nowhere to be found so I made that out of carbon also. After all the graphite work I ve decided to leave the tunnel exposed and not carpet it.

Are you working on the truck in Bushnell ? Just wondering, since I'm in the villages. Don S

Glad to see another builder using the 4R70W. Mine was a Blueprint purchase along with a SBF engine.

I'm using BBK 15150 headers and had considerable issues trying to get the Blueprint oil dipstick to fit with the plug wire looms.

I finally gave up and used the oil dipstick from an old 302 I had in the barn. Comparing the Blueprint one to the old one, the new one is just bent differently.

I think the optimal dipstick would be one that pulls straight up and not to the front of the truck.

Looks like your trans controller is mounted directly on the tunnel. Will you be covering that section with a console?

I got mine from Blueprint also with my engine build. I got the flexible trans dipstick from Lokar as I really like the look and I can bend it as needed.
My controller will be stationary and visible from the interior. I custom built a graphite bracket to match the tunnel. Id like to maintain a quick way to access it so I can change modes from street to drag strip when I want to.
My first controller was basically fried when we hooked it up, so the company replaced it for me at no charge. I'm still getting an OSS error from it and we've checked the ohms on the wiring, the controller, and taken the sensor out and it ohms perfectly as well. Not sure what's going on as we've not fired anything up yet.

I misread your post and thought you were talking about the trans dipstick. I don't have my headers yet so I'll wait to see how it matches up with their dipstick.

We bought there in 99 and retired there 7 years ago. I still have a business and properties in central Fl but we wanted to get away to the mts. We love it up here.

well, color me confused and disappointed. I have been chatting with Travis at FFR and was told that yes, I would be getting shorty headers with the kit. That was about 6-8 weeks ago. Many conversations later, telling me where they were in shipping by boat and that the buyer was keeping him informed, they finally came in. Only to be two short tubes with bungs welded in place. I left a message asking what's going on and I was informed today that I in fact had to purchase my headers. Travis did apologize, but I'm not really very happy right now. Had I known this 6-8 weeks ago, I could've already had the system installed.
