Help with ideas for tightening CV drive axle nut and irs adapter

I am missing something here and do not want to mangle the threads on the wheel studs. I have both the CV axle nut on with an impact driver and the irs adapter on with the 6 M10 bolts. I cannot get to to torque because the driveshaft is able to turn (no engine/transmission yet) freely. Do I wait for rims and tires, engine/trans in place, or is there smoother method to allow me to torque these bolts.

Thanks in advance for the help. I am sure someone has come up with a method to do this before me.

I waited until the brakes were finalized, then had someone hold the brake pedal while I torqued the bolts
