All,
Delivery of kit is 2 weeks away and since my motor was delivered way early, it is currently in the crate. I bought a SBF engine stand that I plan on putting the engine on so I can at least roll it around as needed. Any good advice or use for the crate, I would like to disassemble and dispose, otherwise I need another place to put it. So, if anyone has a good repurpose or reason to save, let me know.

I'd be tempted to fashion some type of throne out of it and request the rest of family to begin referring to me as "my Lordship," but at best, that would last exactly one Father's Day.

Do you have wheel ramps? Once the body goes on and the car's at FFR's recommended ride height most jacks (even the "low profile" ones) won't be able to slip under the front lip nor the fuel tank. I have a piece of wood that I drive onto in order to jack the car up. ~2in is all you need. Just cut the crate down to size and glue layers together :P

I guess I learned this trait from my parents, who grew up in the depression: I save everything. This, frequently becomes a problem of accumulating clutter. Nevertheless, lumber, particularly 2x4 lumber, becomes useful. Worst case, you can cut it up and use it in a fire pit. Or you could make something creative out of it. Or, you could use the wood for ramps, as facultyofmusic suggests. I'm sure you'll come up with something.
