I borrowed a 2-ton lift from a neighbor and it's time for me to remove the Gen2 Coyote + T56 and set it on the FFR engine stand so I can rivet the engine bay panels and run electrical before reinstalling the engine/trans. I didn't install it originally, and have never installed or removed an engine before. Is this a job you can tackle by yourself or does it really require 2 people (one to operate the lift, one to push on the trans and guide it out)? Just looking for some feedback before I attempt this and get in over my head.

In preparation, I've removed everything from the engine bay that would get in the way, and disconnected the steering shaft. Anything else I should watch out for, or is it a pretty simple job?

While there are several brave souls on this forum who did it themselves I highly recommend you get a buddy to help. The coyote is super wide and the T-56 is long. Unless you have a way to tilt the chassis and a balance bar to adjust lift angle you're gonna need someone to push down the tranny as you pull it out. Safety is another concern and this isn't a job where you want to spread yourself too thin.

Let's say you attempt it yourself, got the engine half-way out but realized you needed another pair of hands to clear a part of the frame. Now you most likely can't put the engine back down without someone's help and until help comes the engine is going to stay hanging on that lift. Needless to say that leaving the engine+trans hanging on a crane overnight isn't the best idea.

source: installing and removing my coyote + t56 twice during my build. I had 3 buddies come and at least 2 of there were providing real help at all times.

Thanks for the advice - this is kind of what I was thinking and I think I'll proceed on the side of caution and get some extra help.
