Hello All,
Happy Sunday!
I am having an issue with my RT turn signal. The left turn signal works just fine. The right turn signal does not turn on the right turn signals.
I think there is an issue on the underside, where the two small brass contacts are. When I engage the left turn signal, I can see and feel that the top small brass tab comes out (about 1/16") and the bottom brass tab goes in about 1/16"(like a teeter totter). When I engage the right turn signal the bottom brass tab does not come out and the top brass tab does not go in. When the turn signal stalk is in the neutral position, I can rock the two brass tabs in and out freely. There must be a ramp or cam under those brass tabs that when engaged closes the circuit and turn on the appropriate turn signal.
Question one: has anyone had this issues??
Question two: I know the black hub on the RT turn signal is from a VW beetle, does anyone know what year that part is from?
Question three: does anyone have an exploded view of this VW component? or has disassembled one?

Thank you for your help and input here. Martin

You may need to rotate the position of the steering shaft a bit. You'll have the same symptoms when driving if the wheel is in a certain position, the TS switch won't engage.

I have 7300 miles on the car and haven't had an issue with it until yesterday afternoon.....weird.
