front firewall Gen 1 vs Gen 2

I am changing from Gen 1 clutch cable to Gen 2 version. How much wider is the Gen 2 firewall then the Gen 1. Need dimension to move clutch cable hole. Both Gen 1 and Gen 2 give dimension from right side of firewall aluminum panel but I can not find any information on firewall differences.
Gen 1 clutch assembly has too much play and bends with time !!

My Gen 2 firewall is about 43" side to side give or take 1 /2". It's populated with stuff so I can't get a straight measurement with a tape measure.

if you're talking about the literal metal firewall, my Gen1 measures ~42 5/8.

I don't think there is any difference between the two
