I just mounted my dash and in the process wanted to see the steering wheel on to see how it orients to the dash. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but it is verrrry tight! I am concerned that if I tighten it down with the bolt, I won't be able to get it off without a puller. I'm not crazy about pulling it off every time I need to get the dash off before final body fitting. Any suggestions?

Anti-seize and just put it on enough to catch the flats. Either that or just pull out the upper shaft with the wheel attached.

It’s supposed to be tight. Yes, you will need a puller to get it off if you tighten the bolt down. Like Mike said, just pull the hub with the upper shaft.

So you have to reinstall the belleville washers each time? First feel the edges at the very end of the shaft to see if they are sharp. File them slightly so they don't cut into the aluminum as you push the wheel on. Then do as mike says anti-seize or I prefer a little bearing grease. As you are thinking forget the bolt until much later in the process like your first gokart.

No, leave the Belleville washers out until the final install.
