Background: I am using the FFR-supplied twin side pipes

I am wondering what kind of bushings you may be using for hanging your side pipes via the 2-bolt tab on the frame and the 1-bolt tab on the side pipes. The kit setup uses an L-bracket and two rubber bushings with a pair of studs each at the frame -to- L-bracket union. IMO, this is a little soft. I am thinking the individual round rubber bushings could be replaced with a single poly bushing with two holes on the correct center, which would be stiffer, and keep the side pipes better aligned in their recess below the doors (as opposed to sagging ...) Stiffer also means a little less stress on the ball header union, which is ALWAYS stretching and loosening. I have to check that connection more than I check my oil :-)

There are a lot of exhaust hangers out there which are a high-density poly design, of the correct thickness, but the centers &/or hole diameters are off. And yes, I can stack some stiffer but somewhat compliant washers in place of the soft rubber grommets, but was thinking maybe others have solved this nit already :-)

This is the maintenance stuff I seem to be mostly focusing on after getting some road miles on the Coupe. Chasing down those rattles :-)

Off this week to apply UV/IR film on the hatch glass and a visor brow on the windshield. Note that the glass that comes with the coupe does not have what is now standard film application. Of course, it is easier to do this upgrade BEFORE installing hatch and windshield .... Oops ... :-)

I used some heavy duty stainless steel cable ties to reinforce my exhaust hangers and limit their ability to stretch. As shown in my build thread here (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?31167-Greek-Guys-Garage-Roadster-Build-9509-(Nice-shoutout-on-Insta-about-my-build)&p=525833&viewfull=1#post525833).

The rubber bushing you are using is almost exactly what I found. I think I need to extend the "L-bracket for a better lever arm similar to your setup (maybe the attachment point is different in the Roadster??). Thanx for sharing your approach!

I thought I'd share my hack on the exhaust hangers.

I found some rubber T-bushings at McMaster-Carr with a hole diameter of 1/4", an O.D of 3/4" and a step diameter of 7/16".

I drilled out the 2 bracket holes for mounting to the frame to 7/16" and made a bracket sandwich with the rubber bushings. This eliminates metal on metal contact between mounting cap screws and the bracket and provides a stiffness (almost) of posts.

The business end of the L-bracket is hard mounted to the tab on the side pipes. I am using a rubber grommet to provide the spacing required between bracket and side-pipe tabs. These conform around the nut on the post when tightened down with Nylocs (which are okay on the frame side of this kludge :-)

Net effect is vibration damping while stiffening this mount point. No side pipe sag.

FWIW

I could use some pics of the L-bracket type mounts installed
Mine sit high...not sure I'm doing this right
