What did you guys do ? Take your car to a pro tuner or let the set up wizard work the car ?

The wizard is very basic and there are some fairly basic things that you can't even do with that. The wizard is also very conservative with AFR targets. Bottom line, you don't get good performance really by letting the Sniper do it's self learning thing based on wizard settings. As a minimum, you should read some of the Sniper forum articles, learn to use some of the functionality of the PC tool to smooth and tweak values in tables, and go from there.... Another great resource is https://www.efisystempro.com/efi-pro-hangout/holley-sniper-efi-instruction
Having done that, I like the performance I'm getting but I know there's more to be had and would love to find a pro tuner that knows the Sniper locally. Here in Vancouver (Canada) that doesn't seem easy to find...

I had my car running pretty good with the Sniper, but couldn't resolve a couple of things I was dealing with. I hired a tuner that does remote setup and tuning and that's when I discovered I was fighting other issues that needed to be addressed before the Sniper would be ready for any real tuning. The Holley Sniper forum has a few guys that offer remote tuning services, but I think you'll get the biggest bang for the buck with a reputable local tuner. I've since removed the Sniper and have a Terminator X with Inglese stacks. The local tuner that I took my car to was amazing. He got it close on the dyno, but then finished fine tuning it while I was driving the car. It was amazing how I could immediately feel the adjustments he was making.

Holley "tunes" are set fat and are very basic. The "wizard" can get you sorta close, but you need to really use a laptop to fine tune the Sniper. Use the forum and research or reach out for tuning. Once you have a handle on it, it's not bad but does limit many things the HP version (you can't use that one) has. Also need to decide if you're using ECU commanded timing distributor or just a ready-to-run type.

I hired a guy who logged in remotely. The difference was night and day. His name is Andrew. projectgattago@gmail.com
He did a great job and it was pretty affordable

That’s who I used as well. Made a significant difference in overall driveability.

I used Andrew as well to tune my BP347 with Holley Sniper. He is great. In addition to the tune, he found a sticking IAC module that was driving me crazy. Texted me the replacement part, I picked up at local store, had it installed and running great in 2 hours. Very satisfied.

Yep! That's who I was working with as well. Great guy and he knows his stuff. I'm certain had I not been experiencing the other issues I mentioned, he would have been able to make a big difference in my car's drivability.
I also want to give a shout out to @weendoggy and @bobl, who were both willing to help me learn the in's and out's of tuning the Sniper right here on this forum.

Another vote for Andrew. It is amazing to watch him remote in and do his thing to your car. It sucks that a tuner has to be paid for a product that Holley describes as "self tuning". But, it is pretty cheap in the overall scheme of building your car.

Pro Tuner!! I echo the above comments. If you can find a good local tuner I would recommend the "remote tune" and then a ride along tune after the initial settings have been used for a couple of weeks and self-modified. My experience with Holley support was spotty at best. Same for their boards. Neither was able to help much with their product. I went through 2 Snipers before switching to a multi-port HP/EFI system which also failed. Finally after a couple of very frustrating years the car is running well and consisitently..
