Happy Memorial Day all. I am working on wiring up the headlights, tail lights and parking lights and have run into an issue. I am using the Russ Thompson turn signal and IDIDIT relay and have wired the rear with the trailer adapter connector that came with the kit for the rear lights. Parking lights, headlights and rear parking lights all work. Brake lights work. Even the headlight dimmer on the stalk of the turn signal works just fine. Blinkers not working and, when I connect the pink, blue and green wires to the hazard switch it blows the fuse when I throw the switch. The blinkers will not operate without those three wires connected to the hazard switch.

Anyone have this problem or know what I can do to resolve it? Like some on here, wiring is definitely not my strong suit. Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, I did more testing and figured out that the left side works fine but when I touch the pink hazard wire to the blue right side wire, it sparks and blows the fuse. Any ideas as to what I have done wrong?

Doug,

Can you share how you connected the wires to the hazard switch? Which pins on the switch did you connect the wires to? Be sure the blue and green wires are on the two spade pins on either end of the switch. The pink wires then go to the two center spades on the switch, leaving the two remaining spades on the other end of the switch unused.

Also, make sure none of the wires at the leads at the lights are making contact with a ground and that each light is internally wired correctly. There have been a few cases where the lights themselves have been crosswired.

Well, it is amazing what can happen when you wire things correctly. I got it all wired up and tested. Had two switches wired wrong. Thanks for the advice Dave!
