I took my longest cruise yesterday, about 90 min, everything ran smoothly until the last 1/4 mile when my throttle hungup at 2200 rpm, I shut down the engine, coasted into my destination, restarted the engine and everything seemed OK. Running a BP 347 with a Forte mechanincal throttle linkage, dual springs on the Sniper EFI. Things I should consider as the culprit? Thanks for any ides in advance.

I had an issue like that and the lock thingys on the shaft were too tight to the pivots. We loosened them and all is good now.

Another possibility is the secondary return spring needs another wrap on it. I had similar issues until it added an extra turn on it. This video explains how. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=avRqQZBOxP0&pp=ygUbaG9sbGV5IHNuaXBlciByZXR1cm4gc3ByaW5n

Dittos:
My Sniper also did this after a few outings and an additional wrap as shown in the video fixed it. I also use the Forte' solid throttle linkage, but that did not seem to be the issue.

This happened to me. Only it was in the driveway while working on the car. Factory five gas petal allen screws came loose and the assembly was just sloppy enough to have the arm at the top hook and the chassis.

Thansk for the all the ideas, I think it was the locking collars being too snug and causing some binding, loosened those up a bit, I'll see if that solves it

In addition to the spring wrap issue/fix described above, the Sniper is also known to get a little out of alignment and the butterflies get hung up in the barrels. Check to be sure they aren't sticking. There is a good post on the Holley Sniper forum that discusses both issues.

Another issue with the Sniper that can cause these symptoms is, the IAC can hang in the park position of 20%. If it happens again, look at the handheld for the IAC position.

Happened to me once or twice. Problem solved after following the steps in this video.
