Hello, I'm looking for some help determining which bolts go where on the 2018 IRS. I've checked the forums, I've viewed the expanded instructions, scoured the build manual, but NO clue or hint which bolts go where on the IRS!
Has anyone broke the code on this?
Thanks from Alaska!

Per the build manual: "The smaller/shorter bolts are used for the rear mounts."

Those would be the M14-2.0 x 100mm flange head bolts (15962) without nuts. The longer M16–2.0 x 130mm flange head bolts (15963) with nuts would be used for the front.

Thank you. Yes I read that too. I am a bit confused on the drilling a 5/8" hole on the front mount holes on the center section? On the new IRS?

A M16 metric bolt measures ~.62". 5/8" = .62"

Ha - you are 2 days ahead of me it seems. Came here for exactly this question.

I am right there as well. But I am missing 4 bushings and pivot sleeves out of bag 15941

Yes. The front bolt holes on the center section (Diff) need to be drilled out to allow the longer M16–2.0 x 130mm flange head bolts to pass through to the mounting holes on the frame. The rear will use the shorter bolts directly into the diff without the need for bolts.

If you have both the short & the long bolts, take a look at the diff. and the frame mounting locations and it should make more sense (and as to why the diff needs to be drilled out).

The fun part will be getting that bugger up into the frame to mount it. :D

The build manual has it. Follow along and read a few times. It will make sense.

You need to drill out a few holes as the DIFF is for a 2018 mustang and a few tweaks make it work in the for FF design. Drill out the lower mounts per the manual. Find the correct bushings and sleeves. Once you have them in your hand you will see one set is longer than the other. The Manual says which one goes where. Use a caliper to measure.

The M14 bolts are for the rear mounts and screw directly into the rear mount. The larger and longer M16's are for the front mount and use flange nuts.

Have a friend over and muscle/hustle that thing up. You got it.

I found this on another thread - Make Bray provided this list. I found it most helpful.

This was in a thread a couple of months ago. I hope Factory Five works on updating their manuals to better call out fastener information.

The Differential calls for the following:
2 - M14-2mm x 100mm flange head bolts
2 - M16-2mm x 130mm flange head bolts
4 - M16-2mm deformed thread flanged lock nuts

Upper control arms:
2 - 5/8"-11 x 4 1/4" bolts
2 - 5/8"-11 lock nuts
2 - 5/8" washers
4 - M16-2mm x 110mm flanged head bolts
4 - M16-2mm deformed thread flanged lock nuts

Lower control arm:
2 - M16-2mm x 90mm flanged head bolts
4 - M16-2mm x 110mm flanged head bolts
6 - M16-2mm deformed thread flanged lock nuts

Toe arms:
2 - 5/8"-11 x 2 1/4" bolts
2 - 5/8"-11 lock nuts
2 - M14-2mm x 80mm bolts
2 - M14-2mm lock nuts

IRS Shocks
2 - 1/2"-13 x 3 1/4" bolts
2 - 1/2"-13 x 4" bolts
4 - 1/2"-13 nylon lock nuts

My "favorite" (sarcasm) part of the build is receiving a ziplock bag of various nuts and bolts, and then finding the manual say "use the supplied bolt to ..."

Umm...which supplied bolt :-D.

But I found these nuts and bolts in the manual, they're just not always mentioned where you expect them.

If you’ve never built a car before sometimes it can be tough. However, if you know you need X number of these bolts by looking at the parts on the car, then you can deduce what goes where. Reality is there’s only so many place a specific bolt with a specific diameter and length can go. Now if they’re missing completely then that complicates things. McMaster is your friend. I would never wait on a bolt or nut when McMaster has literally anything you could ever want.
