Well, it's been about 10 months since I picked up my kit, and I just finished painting it and doing final assembly. With the exception of the door pockets, here are the finished pictures! Ahead of me is a rough alignment, and getting the state of Maine DMV to answer my calls, emails, snail mail and faxes! Crickets... nothing but crickets from my beloved state of Maine.
The color is Porsche Tobacco Brown, and the accent color is a gunmetal dark grey.

That is a great looking build, and it's gotta feel awesome to be at that stage - just in time for a whole summer of motoring goodness!

Enjoy!

Nice job! I look forward to maybe seeing it on the road in Maine - I am just up the road in Yarmouth. Did you add windshield wipers? I am pretty sure ME requires them.

I've been following on your video series. What can I say... AA-ron, you built a one bada$$ and incredibly cool customized ride! The pipes! Absolutely awesome looking! Not mention, the insane amount of custom touches you've did with the; Amazing fiberglass additions, the oh $h!t handles, the metal fab and to paint it as well - Get Out! I'm still processing the no bumpers. I dig it! Very unique and all yours! No doubt, get-out and enjoy it! May safe roads always find you...

To say that I was obsessed with this project would be an understatement. The funny thing is (and I'm sure like most), I was eager to get it finished, just eager to work on it. The result is that I finished it ahead of schedule.

I decided to do wipers to just get me through the inspection and possibly the occasional rain storm. I've build a bracket to hold the windshield wiper motors that bolts onto my targa top brackets on the windshield. They plug into an accessory 12 volt port under the dash. They are the basic "hot rod" wiper kit you see for $79. I'll send some pictures when I get a chance.

Yes! Kids all away at college, honey-do lists put on pause, and 30 years of pent up excitement, all lead to finishing ahead of schedule. The body work and paint took more than I expected, but it was my only option. Farming that out was not in the budget.

What did you fabricate the roll bar with? Love the custom dash.

I used 1" x 1/8"wall DOM tubing, [2] of them with braces in between, then skinned it in 16 ga sheet steel. Here's a link to the video of my making it. It may have been the most fun part of the build!

Ha! yes, I wasn't sure I was a brown guy either. However, every time I'd see a 70's 911 drive by in Tobacco Brown, I alway paused and said..."hmmm",

Been watching your videos as well. A true craftsman and I love your honesty about certain things like you’ve never painted a car. You did a great job and making me consider painting myself as well.

Is it just me or is the exhaust not even from side to side?

I'm just teasing; it looks great!

Ha! That's what I get for sharing my dirty little secrets. Yep, they aint even close when comparing between right and left exhaust exits. I missed by a full inch! I chose the wrong reference point. Lucky for me, you can't see both sides at once. :)
