Good morning all.
This question goes out to those running an automatic transmission in their Roadster.
What type/brand of shifter are you using? Pics would be great.
I'm putting a AOD in mine and trying to find one that looks good in the car.
Thanks,
Steve

The Man Himself Used A Stock Ford Shifter In The Super Snakes!
I'd try to find something that looks like this if I were going to do an automatic:

I'm just completing my transition from T5 to AOD in my MK1. Started the engine and did the initial fill yesterday. TV cable calibration this afternoon or tomorrow.
I used a n AOD shifter from an 85 Mercury Capri. I believe the shifter was the same in AOD Mustangs 83 to 86

I put a Lokar in a T Bucket and was really pleased with the quality and function.

I run a Lokar...BUT...for the money I'd put in stock shifter such as those mentioned above.

What about this Surface Mount Gated Shifter from B&M?

With a manual valve body it might be the best of both worlds shifting with no clutch.

I'm using a Lokar electronic sport mode shifter to control the 4R70W I have in my roadster. The Lokar shifter in conjunction with the US Shift QuickShift 4 controller allows you to manually upshift / downshift the transmission.
Lokar has a lot of options for the shift lever (length, bends, black vs chrome, etc.) as well as the shift knob. Depending on what you pick for levers and knobs you can achieve quite a few different looks.
This hyperlink will take you to their catalog page with the electronic sport mode shifter: https://lokar.com/catalog/#page=45. If you page forward a page or 2, you will be able to see the selection of levers and knobs.

I have used a couple of different brands of ratchet shifters. Rather than beat it to death, my advise is, save your money.
