I’ve been hanging onto the dream of having an ac cobra kit car for 36 years now. I have brochures from the 90’s and fairly certain I have some from F5 from the late 90’s and another set from about 10 years ago. Always wanted to build one. I’ve helped with other cars but never had my own.

Made the move to change that this week with a Mk4 setup for a coyote gen 3. Was going to try to do a budget build but I realized that really wasn’t what I wanted to do and this time, for my car, I’m doing exactly what I want so I ordered it:

Mk4 complete kit
Coyote mounts
IRS kit
Power steering kit
Gps gauges
Coyote headers with cats
Steel exhaust (might go to SS but I want to have a look at the gasNpipes and other options)
Chrome roll bars
Wind wings
Dash with glove box (might change this but will likely leave it as is)
Stock seats - may has for them to be deleted so I can get high back kirkey or some others.
EFI fuel tank kit

Got a 3.55 center section with torsen differential. Got the whole suspension dropout along with the crossover so I’ll have parts to sell from it. Thing had hardly any miles and hadn’t even rusted yet.

Am working on sourcing a coyote gen 3 and tkx trans along with everything else needed. Leaning towards using Mike Forte. It I may want a 6006 instead of 6007 long block but I’m awful tempted to build a 3-2-1 setup off a short block. (I’ve been coming up with a list of everything needed along with part numbers if anyone is interested in seeing the cost differences between short block, f3rz6006,, m6006m50c, and m6007m50c.

Fortunately a friend owns a race team and hooked me up with a local guy that builds engines for racing. Sounds like he’ll do my sanity check and tune but he won’t build me one unless it’s a gen2 and 1000hp but his price on that is killer so let me know if anyone wants contact info. (I’m not having him do the build because I want less HP. )

I’ll probably start a build thread soon to document my getting all the stuff together, the space cleaned out, and some small electronics projects I plan to use with it.

I think my build date is September 16th and I have a lot to do before now and then.

Have fun! I ordered my '33 Hot Rod late December, 2022 and received word from Stewart Transport a few days ago that is should be delivered in about a week (5/29) The wait went fast. What is the current lead time for orders placed now?

Did you get brakes w/ your suspension? They work great. I see a nice car coming from your list of specs. Welcome to a new life.

I ordered my MkIV a month ago, and was given a July 1st completion date.

Yeah... think they're the larger Brembo brakes if I'm not mistaken. I'll know for sure when they get here.

Thanks!

From when I ordered it was Mid-September. I believe 2 days later it was end of September so I'm not sure where it is now.
