I know this has been covered before but I'm having a hard time finding the thread. Is there a good way of securing the bezels around the turn signals? I feel funny about asking a question like this because I've basically just build a car. But these little #$%&@! have me confounded. They don't seem to have any means for snapping into place. The small groove in the bezel isn't substantial enough to engage with anything on the light's trim ring. I seem to remember someone saying the glued them into place, but that has me worried as there's very little contact area for adhesion.
Any tips or tricks here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Dont use super glue. I used silicone in a few strategic spots. Very poor design.

I replaced mine with these (https://jollyrogersmotors.com/store/p/770-Lucas-L539-Clear-Lens-Rim-Pair-New.html), which are MUCH better quality. More details here (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?42485-Front-signal-markers-Generic-vs-real-Lucas-L539).
I just ordered these after verifying that the bulbs that came with my kit are amber. Guess I couldn't figure out a better way to spend another $45. This forum is always spending my money. But I did visit a another local build recently and he was talking about and showing me the poor fit of those kit-supplied lens and trim rings.

Jeff Kleiner did a post about using O-rings to fill the gap between the trim rings and the body that addresses your issue also.

It's not the lens to the base that's his problem. It's the lens to the trim ring.

The sheet metal chrome trim just pushes onto the plastic lens. If it’s loose just slightly bend the rolled over portion of the I.D. so that it has more interference fit and will grip tighter when pushed over the 4 “blades” on the lens.
O-rings are a whole different story that covers about a dozen forum pages—-much to my Brother Bat’s chagrin :p

Like the O rings. Found the rubber was still alive today when putting LED bulbs in the front turn lights. Seem to act as a good water seal filling in the space between the lens & the car body.

Do the bezels come off or are they fixed?

I did end up solving my bezel issue. I installed two very small screws that thread through the bezel into the mounting plate. One screw on top and the other on the bottom. They are almost invisible and they completely solved the problem. I can't recall the size but they are the smallest sheet metal screws I could find and are only about 3/16" in length.

I'm not sure if you're asking if the bezels come off the base, or if the bezel (chrome bit) comes off the plastic lens? The answer to both is yes. The whole plastic lens + chrome ring comes off the base with a quarter turn. The plastic lens is just a press-fit into the chrome ring. The chrome ring is actually purely decorative. The plastic lens is what attaches to the base with two tabs.

Thanks John. Yes, I was asking if the chrome bezel comes off of the plastic lens as I'd be interested in having it powder coated and then reassemble. You can do that with the stock light, but as has been said, once you take it apart, it sucks putting it back together again. I had to silicone mine.
