In High School in 1961 before I went off to what was to become the rest of my life, I managed to pick up a flexible 45 RPM record of the 61 Corvette sounds. I’ve often wondered where that record went, but today I found this, which I downloaded and converted, to MP3 to share with my brother :

And in the process of searching for the Corvette sounds I stumbled into this link for Deans Garage. Car Nuts may get trapped here because there are many photos of car design and imbedded videos of cars and races. I’ll let you decide if the effort is worth the results:

If you can tolerate old 8mm images in order to see some real racing back in the day, well this is for you:
Road racing home movies from the 1960s and 1970s. Riverside International Raceway, Stardust, Ontario Motor Speedway, Fontana, Mid-Ohio. Racing sound track, including Zora Arkus Duntov from 1960 on a Chevrolet promotional 45 RPM record. Over 60 minutes.

Here some video of Bullitt and LaMans for you older guys. You’ll find the Bullitt chase and some video on the “making of Bullitt”, etc:

And this for the younger crowd who think the retractable hardtops are cool. Scroll down to the 1957 Ford video:

But the true treasures are those on Automotive Design and Art, but you’ll have to find all that yourself.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and all the Joy of the Season

Enjoy………… Phillip

Thanks for that link. There are some things in there that shows how far ahead of the times these companies were thinking.
