I have a BPE 347 with Sniper EFI. I am not very good at figuring out the wiring and the rats nest of wires behind the dash is getting me confused. What is the best way to get power to the coil without attaching it to the starter solenoid? I am not using the choke, heater or windshield wiper circuits. Are any of those good sources of power to the coil?
I am also trying to limit the number of wires attached to the solenoid. Any tips there would be appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Doug
I think most use the orange "EFI or coil" to power the coil.

Sounds like we have a whole gang in DFW tackling wiring today. I just added this to another post, but works exactly here as well:
Small(ish) world - I’m in DFW and tackling the same thing today. BPE 347/TKX with Sniper as well
Reach out to BPE Tech Support tomorrow and ask them to email you their Factory Five Pre-Install FAQ. It details all the sniper wiring and some other tips I would have never thought about unique to their crate setup.
I’m just now tracking an oddity with my RF harness (hopefully just a labeling mistake on their harness).

I just completed wiring my BPE 347 - sniper I used the orange EFI coil wire from the RF harness as well, ran it to the coil positive and everything worked out. The RF diagram isn't very specific about this and the sniper diagram doesn't mention it as well, it's in the gray area between different component suppliers. Good luck.

Same here. After a few starts and a SS coil wrap (for eye candy purposes only) the yellow neg wire crimp opened and the engine would not fire past the initial 1 second when the computer was looking for a tach signal. Re-soldered and shrink wrapped that yellow wire on a new ring lug and all's good.

Looks like you got good answers for your situation. For anyone else w/ a different setup, especially a carb, the coil needs it's own power source. Carb setups make it real conveneient to tap power from the choke circuit but the choke is a relatively hi load so the coil could could get reduced voltage.
