AS I prepare the rear IRS parts for installation, the rear toe link is giving me fits. I know this should be a simple installation but the helm joint is not cooperating to get the jam nut on it supplied by FFR. I have tried getting this jam nut to thread on the hem joint barrel, but the threads seemed mismatched or out of whack.. I cannot see any thing wrong with the him joint threads as I can screw it down onto the barrel. See picture below. It is both nuts, so I think I must be doing something wrong here. Any advice?

Here is the picture.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Check for left handed threads.

The jam nuts I received were not left handed. You can test by threading the supplies ones on the other side of the joint. What was odd was that mine were marked as lefty. Either way, ordered left handed ones and they worked out fine

mmklaxer,

Thanks for the quick response. Do you have the part number and where you ordered them from?

Thanks

Went back and reviewed my notes. Inventory sheet called for left hand jam nuts. It appeared I received left handed jam nuts. What I actually needed were RIGHT handed jam nuts.

Ordered from summit: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/qa1-jnr12s

Just double check right vs left to make sure you ge the correct ones. either way they're 3/4"-16 nuts

See the little cut in the points of the nut sides. Those indicate left hand threads, like the ones you have threaded on. No cuts, right handed.

I think I have the same problem. Did the nuts from Summit do the trick?

Thanks!

Ditto here, you will find that the provided jam nuts are Left handed ( has an arrow to tell you what way to spin it, but the rod end needs a (Righty tighty). Left handed jam nuts usually have a mark on them, as you can see the one on the sleeve has marks. The Lefty nut will fit on that sleeve, but not much help to have 2 lefty's. I had a regular 3/4 nut that I threaded on the heim joint to test it.

I talked to the guys at FFR about this. Hopefully it gets corrected. You shouldnt have to go out and by new nuts.

I purchased them from summit because the cost was relatively small. That being said I also informed factory five and pointed them to this thread.

The nuts arrived from Summit tonight. Took me about five seconds to install them. No response from FFR, which is disappointing. That being said, if you run into this issue, MMKLaxer pointed me towards the solution:
