I have stainless, braided fuel line. When I was starting my truck, yesterday, I smelled fuel, turned off the ignition and saw fuel dripping from the line. Removed the line today and a pressure test showed the line leaking in a couple of places (or one long failure) Was not aware that this was an issue but I found a FFR thread from 10 years ago indicating it was a common problem back in 2012. While my line is only a couple of years old, I don't know how long it sat on the shelf at the hot rod shop before I bought it.
What is recommended as a replacement - I kind of need to stay with flexible line as hard line routing is not practical with everything assembled

It was a common problem in the past with rubber based hoses. Modern hoses with a PTFE core don't have that problem. That hose has been around awhile. Wonder what you got that's only two years old? PTFE core material wouldn't be a problem sitting on the shelf. FWIW, there are a number of brands. My go-to is Aeroquip FCC0610 Hose and Aeroquip -AN connectors. Have worked great for me in several builds. Whatever you choose, recommend to use hose and connectors from the same manufacturer.

Hey Mike, I bought this kit for my fuel line..... it's hose that specific for gas. Consider this or something similar.

Thanks - good info.
Hose was purchased from a small mom&pop speed shop, now out of business, so who knows how old it was.
The unknown unknowns sure make for a rich learning experience

Contacted BluePrint, for specs on the "pigtail" (fuel line) attached to the carb - it came from Russell Plumbing, it is PTFE (nitrous) and available in various lengths with ends made up; the finished lines cost less than the cost of the individual parts (direct from Russell or Summit Racing - RUS 658570 12' $62.99)

I also recommend Hot Rod Fuel for PTFE. They have an assortment of colors, sizes and are very helpful.
